IRS and Treasury Department have started paying the Advance Child Tax Credit (CTC) for the month of September. Future payments are scheduled for October 15, November 15 and December 15.

• Payment for each child is up to $300 per month under age 6 and up to $250 per month for ages 6 through 17.
• Direct deposit payments in accounts. (Paper check payments also available)
• Payments to eligible families who filed a 2019 or 2020 income tax return.
• Includes people who don't typically file a return but during 2020 successfully registered for Economic Impact Payments.
• Families who did not get earlier payments (first monthly payment being September) will still receive their total advance payment for the year. Payment for each child is up to $450 per month under age 6 and up to $375 per month for ages 6 through 17.
